Thank you for visiting our website!
The James River Chapter, NSDAR, continues to seek new members and opportunities within our area to promote the DAR objectives of Historic Preservation, Promotion of Education and Patriotic Endeavor.
“It’s not your Grandmother’s DAR”
We are an active, progressive chapter and invite you to come be a part of our patriotic, non-political, volunteer service organization. Each year we present the DAR Good Citizens award to a local senior high school student and awards to the winners of the history essay contests at the elementary and middle schools. Also, a scholarship is given to a graduating senior. Along with numerous other activities, donations are gathered and taken to one of several DAR sponsored schools in the mountain regions of North and South Carolina, northern Alabama and eastern Kentucky. Our Veterans are remembered and visited at the VA hospital in Salem, We hold our meetings at 2:00 pm, the second Thursday of each month, October through May.

To learn more about our chapter and are interested in joining the DAR please contact our Regent, the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution or the Virginia Daughters of the American Revolution.
